                                                               DE L'OMBRE À LA LUMIÈRE

                                                    "Peintre des rencontres éphémères"

Peintre autodidacte, je pourrais dire que je suis "tombé dedans quand je suis né".

C'est à l'âge de 16  ans que j'ai découvert la peinture grâce au livre de feu Xavier de Langlais qui est devenu pour moi la bible de la peinture.

Bien que mes parents aient fait l'impasse sur le monde des arts, j'ai réussi à décrocher un emploi de graphiste pour m'orienter ensuite vers l'illustration (pub, presse et édition) ce qui m'a apporté beaucoup sur le plan technique.

Ayant acquis une certaine maîtrise, j'ai commencé à peindre des nus et à participer à de nombreuses expositions à titre individuel ou collectif au sein d'associations d'artiste.

Cependant en dehors de la peinture, j'avais une autre passion qui ne m'a jamais quitté: Les animaux sauvages.

Ainsi ces toiles que je peins maintenant racontent des moments d'émotions intenses lors de rencontres éphémères où la nature m'a permis d'entrer dans son intimité et sont aussi une façon de la remercier pour tout ce qu'elle m'a donné.

Mes tableaux se veulent volontairement une vision brute et authentique de ce monde parallèle dont je me sens si proche.

                                                   VAN DE SCHADUW NAAR HET LICHT

                                           "Schilder van kortstondige ontmoetingen"

Autodidactische schilder, ik zou kunnen zeggen dat ik "erin viel toen ik werd geboren".

Op 16-jarige leeftijd ontdekte ik de schilderkunst dankzij het boek van wijlen Xavier de Langlais, dat voor mij de bijbel van de schilderkunst is geworden.

Hoewel mijn ouders de wereld van de kunsten links lieten liggen, lukte het me om een ​​baan als grafisch ontwerper te bemachtigen om me vervolgens te richten op illustratie (reclame, pers en uitgeverij) wat me veel opleverde op technisch vlak.

Nadat ik een zeker meesterschap had verworven, begon ik naakten te schilderen en deel te nemen aan tal van tentoonstellingen, individueel of collectief binnen kunstenaarsverenigingen.

Naast schilderen had ik echter nog een andere passie die me nooit heeft losgelaten: wilde dieren.

Zo vertellen deze doeken die ik nu schilder over momenten van intense emoties tijdens kortstondige ontmoetingen waar de natuur me in haar intimiteit heeft laten binnendringen en ze zijn ook een manier om haar te bedanken voor alles wat ze me heeft gegeven.

Mijn schilderijen zijn bewust bedoeld als een rauwe en authentieke visie op deze parallelle wereld waar ik me zo dichtbij voel.

                                                   FROM THE SHADOW TO THE LIGHT

                                                    "Painter of ephemeral encounters"

Self-taught painter, I could say that I "fell into it when I was born".

It was at the age of 16 that I discovered painting thanks to the book by the late Xavier de Langlais which has become for me the bible of painting.

Although my parents ignored the world of the arts, I managed to get a job as a graphic designer to then direct myself towards illustration (advertising, press and publishing) which brought me a lot on the technical plan.

Having acquired a certain mastery, I began to paint nudes and to participate in numerous exhibitions individually or collectively within artist associations.

However, apart from painting, I had another passion that never left me: Wild animals.

Thus these canvases that I paint now tell of moments of intense emotions during ephemeral encounters where nature has allowed me to enter into her intimacy and are also a way of thanking her for all that she has given me.

My paintings are deliberately intended to be a raw and authentic vision of this parallel world to which I feel so close.
